At Faire & Co, we believe creativity can be a powerful part of healing, not just for the body, but for the mind and soul too. That’s why we’re so honoured to continue our partnership with Cancer Council WA through their Life Now Program, delivering a free, six-week mindful art course for people affected by cancer and their carers.
This isn’t about perfect technique or impressive results. It’s about showing up, tuning in, and giving yourself space to create, breathe and connect.

What is the Life Now Program?
The Life Now Program is run by Cancer Council WA and offers free supportive care courses for those affected by cancer, including exercise, mindfulness, yoga and now, art. The goal? To help people stay well during and after cancer physically, emotionally and socially.
Faire & Co is proud to deliver the Mindful Art Kalamunda course as part of this offering, opening up our studio and hearts to a truly special group of people.
Who is it for?
These sessions are open to:
People diagnosed with cancer (past or present)
People currently undergoing treatment
Cancer survivors in recovery
Primary carers of someone affected by cancer
No previous art experience is required. Just bring yourself and an open mind — we'll provide the rest.
What to Expect
Each week, participants will be guided through calming, creative projects designed to nurture expression, mindfulness and personal reflection. Think watercolours, collage, gentle mark-making and hands-on activities that are as soothing as they are satisfying.
You'll work alongside a small, supportive group in our cosy Kalamunda studio, where ugg boots are welcome, tea is always brewing, and the vibe is all about comfort and care. Fay and the Faire & Co team are there to guide and encourage, not instruct or critique.
Here’s what you can expect from your six-week journey:
A safe, welcoming space to connect with others who understand
Gentle creative activities that calm the nervous system and foster focus
Opportunities for self-expression and emotional release
Conversations, laughter, and a few quiet moments just for you
Art has this gentle way of helping us say things we can’t always put into words and in this space, you don’t have to say anything at all unless you want to.

Why Art? Why Now?
Life with cancer whether you're living through it, caring for someone, or finding your way after — can be overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting. Mindful, process-based art invites a moment of stillness. A way to reconnect with yourself, your senses, and others in the same boat.
We’re not interested in finished products. We’re here for the paint smudges, the imperfect scribbles, the deep exhale as you let your hands lead for a while.
How to Register

More Than a Studio
Faire & Co is more than just a place to paint we’re a community. Whether it’s a toddler’s first scribble, a teen’s quiet confidence, or an adult's return to creativity after years away, we show up with warmth, colour, and care.
We’re especially honoured to walk alongside those going through or emerging from cancer journeys. These classes are a love note to everyone who needs a little softness and a creative hand to hold.
So if you, or someone you love, could use a weekly moment of calm, expression and connection — we’d love to welcome you into the Faire & Co fold.
Let’s make something gentle. Let’s make something together.
