What Actually Happens at Faire & Co?

People sometimes assume an art studio is quiet.
Neat. Organised. Soft music playing while everyone politely paints tiny watercolour flowers.
And while there are occasionally moments of calm at Faire & Co… most of the time it’s wonderfully chaotic.
In the best possible way.
There’s paint everywhere
On hands. On aprons. Sometimes accidentally on faces.
There are giant projects drying across tables, tiny humans proudly carrying sculptures like priceless museum artefacts and at least one person asking where the scissors went.
Again.
Our studio isn’t designed to feel perfect.
It’s designed to feel welcoming.
Creativity looks different for everyone
Some kids walk straight in and immediately start creating.
Others need time. They observe first. They move slowly. They quietly figure out whether this space feels safe enough to try.
And one of the loveliest things we get to witness is confidence building over time.
That tiny shift from: “I can’t do this.”
to: “Wait… can I make another one?”
Those moments never get old.
Adults need creativity too
One thing we love about Faire & Co is that creativity isn’t just for kids.
Our adult classes, Paint & Sips and community events are full of people reconnecting with creativity for the first time in years.
Some arrive convinced they’re “not artistic”.
Then two hours later they’re laughing, painting and wondering why they stopped creating in the first place.
Turns out grown ups need creative play just as much as kids do.
It’s really about community
At the heart of everything we do is connection.
People chatting before class. Parents meeting other parents. Kids hyping each other up over paintings. Team members dancing around setting up activities. Merlot wandering through looking for pats.
Faire & Co has never just been about art.
It’s about creating spaces where people feel welcome, supported and free to explore creativity without pressure.
That’s what makes the studio feel special.
Not perfection.
Just people creating together.
