Faire & Co is dedicated to providing inclusive and enriching experiences for individuals of all abilities. We understand the importance of fostering creativity and self-expression, especially within the disability support community.

Our "Carebears" program, is designed specifically for Support Workers and their participants. These sessions are tailored to be a collaborative and uplifting experience, offering a creative outlet for both Support Workers and participants alike. At our studio, we have dedicated tables set up with a variety of projects for artists to choose from, ensuring a personalized and engaging experience every time.

All ages and all abilities are welcomed in our Carebear sessions.

Did you know that you can include the arts in your NDIS plan?

Under the NDIS, art activities are categorised as social and economic participation, skills development, pathways to employment, and health and wellbeing. Whether you join a workshop or one-to-one mentoring, the programs you choose will be designed to help you achieve your goals at a personal, professional, and social level.

why creativity matters?

Now, let's delve into the benefits of creativity for individuals with special needs and their caregivers or support workers:

1. **Emotional Expression:** Creativity allows individuals to express themselves in unique ways, fostering emotional well-being and self-discovery. Through art, individuals can communicate feelings and experiences that may be challenging to express verbally.

2. **Stress Relief:** Engaging in creative activities can be a therapeutic outlet, helping to reduce stress and anxiety levels. This is particularly beneficial for both participants and support workers who may encounter daily challenges and pressures.

3. **Skill Development:** Participating in artistic projects can enhance cognitive skills such as problem-solving, concentration, and fine motor skills. These skills are valuable for individuals with special needs as they navigate daily tasks and activities.

4. **Sense of Achievement:** Completing a creative project can boost confidence and self-esteem, promoting a sense of accomplishment and pride in one's abilities. This sense of achievement is invaluable in building a positive self-image.

5. **Social Connection:** Creative sessions provide opportunities for social interaction and connection with others. Participants can engage in collaborative projects, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships with peers and support workers.

Overall, creativity plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with special needs and their caregivers or support workers. We believe that our Carebears program offers a nurturing and empowering space for creative exploration and growth.

We love our time at Faire & Co each week, the students thrive in the creative environment and their studio Pup, "Merlot" brightens the artists day each week.  We have learnt acrylic and watercolour painting as well as collage and clay!
