After years of creating, we have found that in order to be creative, we need to be a bit of an adventurer — a tinkerer — a risk taker, so we have curated the "fundamentals" collection, made up of  common tools and everyday objects for making art marks.

Without "fun" the tools don't really matter, so we have put the fun back into "fun"damentals, to encourage the joy in the process of creating.

These essential tools will help you invent and reinvent endlessly, giving you the best process art practice you can have.

HOW TO USE OUR KITS

When you purchase one of our fundamentals kits, not only do you get a bag full of goodies to create with, we also include a set of open ended questions, which will help your child use their imagination to create, using the tools in that kit.

Open ended questions encourage children to think outside the square, to think and solve problems creatively.  And creative thinking is a problem solving skill that the employers of today (and tomorrow) are looking for.

Creating art helps you learn to “see” by concentrating on detail and paying more attention to your environment. Making art teaches that there is more than one solution to the same problem. Art challenges our beliefs and encourages open-ended thinking that creates an environment of creative thinking in problem solving.

When you see your child creating, consider the learning potential of simply shifting the way you ask your child questions…
