Paint and Sip in Perth: How to Plan a Private Night Your Group Will Love

A paint and sip is a relaxed night out where you paint while enjoying a drink with friends. At Faire & Co, we run public paint and sip nights and private sessions for birthdays, hens, baby showers, work events and date nights at our studios in North Perth and Kalamunda. No experience needed. You’ll be guided the whole way, and you’ll go home having actually switched off for a few hours.

You know the group chat. Someone suggests dinner again, someone else says “let’s do something different”, and three days later nobody’s booked anything. This is the something different.

What is a paint and sip?

A paint and sip combines a guided painting session with a social night out. You bring the people, we bring the space, the materials and a friendly instructor. The point isn’t to become an artist overnight. It’s to laugh, relax and do something with your hands that isn’t scrolling.

Is paint and sip good for beginners?

Yes, and most of our guests would call themselves “not creative”. That’s exactly who we love having.

Our sessions are different from paint-by-numbers classes where everyone copies the same picture. We guide you through the process, then encourage you to make it your own, in colours you actually like. Guests often choose colours to suit their home, so it ends up on the wall rather than in the cupboard.

One guest, Teagan, put it well: “This was my second sip and paint and was even better than the first. Maybe because I felt a little more confident.”

What occasions suit a private paint and sip?

  • Birthdays: a milestone or just a good excuse to get everyone together.

  • Hens parties: relaxed, fun and easy for every age in the group.

  • Baby showers: a calm, creative way to celebrate that doesn’t involve party games.

  • Work events and team building: people talk more freely when their hands are busy.

  • Date nights: something new to do together that isn’t dinner and a movie.

What’s the difference between a public and a private paint and sip?

  • Public paint and sip nights run at our studios on set dates. Book a seat for yourself or a few friends and meet new people on the night.

  • Private paint and sip sessions are just for your group. You choose the date and the occasion, and we’ll help shape the night around it.

Why do people love paint and sip so much?

  • It’s a real break. Painting keeps you in the moment, which is why so many people leave feeling calmer.

  • It’s social without being awkward. There’s always something to talk about.

  • There’s no pressure. Nobody’s marking your work. The fun is in the doing.

  • You leave with something. A reminder of a great night, made by you.
